Q: I’m not sure which courses would be right for me. If I tell you a little about myself, would you suggest courses with the most appropriate content?
A: YES. One of our nationally known Instructors will be happy to help. We'll steer you toward those courses that offer you the surest way to expand on your knowledge base and fine tune your counseling skills. Just e-mail us and let us know your number of years of experience, the modality you work in, the clients you serve, and your main areas of interest. We’ll suggest an individualized course of study just for you.

Q: What if I want a refund?

A: All our courses are offered with a 100% money-back guarantee. Certificates of Completion are only mailed after you have completed the course assignments and submitted them to us for approval. You may request and will receive a refund at any time prior to the issuance of your Certificate.

Q: Can I use the same course to satisfy the continuing education requirements of more than one credential?

A: YES! Our courses have been submitted for approval nationally, and to many other jurisdictions. So, for example, if you are an NCC, a MAC, and a Texas LCDC, we offer coursework that is approved by NBCC, NAADAC, and the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (TCBAP), and so it will be accepted as continuing education for all three credentials. Just e-mail us with any specific questions about combinations of approvals.

Q: Who are your Instructors, and how do students get in touch with them?

A: Instructors are available by phone, fax, e-mail, or regular mail, and all contact information for them is provided with each course.

All our courses are taught by nationally known Instructors. Our Director of Education (who is the Instructor for many of our courses), is Nicholas A. Roes, author of Solutions for the "Treatment-Resistant" Client" and hundreds of journal articles.

Q: Do you make accommodations for individuals with disabilities?
A: Yes, we will work to make accommodations for those with any physical disability. For example, we can increase the font size of our courses for those who are visually impaired. One advantage of home study is that the learning environment is arranged by the student to accommodate their individual needs and preferences.

You may request accomodation for a disability by phone, fax, e-mail, or US mail. Our phone is 845-557-8353; fax 845-557-6603; e-mail narassociates@aol.com, address PO Box 233, Barryville, NY 12719.

Q: How can I be sure that my State credentialing Board accepts courses approved by the ASWB?
A: The final authority for approving any continuing education activity rests with the jurisdiction where the participant is licensed. Jurisdictions that currently accept ASWB approved continuing education include:

Alabama, Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Connecticut, Delaware, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Saskatchewan, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Please check with your State Board directly to verify that there are no restrictions and to be sure our information is current.

We are also approved directly by the professional boards in many states.

Q: What qualifications do course authors and Instructors have?
A: The ASWB requires that all our coursework be reviewed by a qualified Social Work consultant. We are proud to be associated with Jennifer Wagner, LCSW, who has worked with many special populations during her fifteen plus years in counseling and social work. She makes sure that all our coursework is relevant to social workers, and that course authors are experts in the areas they write about.

Jennifer received her Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and her Master's in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. Ms. Wagner's experience includes addictions and dual diagnosis counseling with individuals and families, program development and clinical program management, both in Texas and in New York State.

Q: Suppose I am dissatified with some aspect of the course? Do you have a grievance procedure?
A: Yes. NAR Associates offers a 100% money back guarantee, at any time before issuance of a certificate of completion. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, simply return the course to us for a full refund.

Please contact us with any grievances, concerns, or suggestions. E-mail: NARAssociates@aol.com; US mail: PO Box 233, Barryville, NY 12719; Phone: 845-557-8713;
Fax: 845-557-6603
